The Story Behind The TowCam...
The Problem
We love our friends and family but sometimes, you just can’t rely on them to make sure they record your ski run just right. You always end up out of frame at some point.
The Solution
Combining my skiing experience and engineering background, I came up with the simple but yet very effective TowCam™ mount system. Starting with simple PVC pipe, a grinder, a shower drain top, and can of spray paint, the idea took off from there.
I custom-design internal profiles to fit specific boat manufacturer pylons and 3D print the entire housing. Knowing cameras and water usually don’t mix well, I add internal floatation so you don’t loose the camera to the bottom of the lake by accident.
Along with some other tweaks, I think you’ll find it to be one of the most cost-effective solutions so your friends and family can focus on watching you with their own eyes! Just watch the demo video to see for yourself
The Evolution
Now that the capability was proven in the field, I have new challenges ahead with different mounting styles and locations on the boat – a tower mount and boats with outboard motors. Those rope mounts are tricky, but I’m up for the challenge!
Once I solve that, the whoel system will be modular such that you can move the upper portion of the TowCam™ mount (with your camera) to another location where you have another base unit.
