The Story Behind The Tote...
The Problem
Like so many other hunters, I struggled for several years carrying a rifle on my shoulder only to have to constantly re-adjust so it didn’t slide off my shoulder, mostly due to the backpack shoulder strap. I researched what options existed in the marketplace to help carry my rifle, but I kept seeing limitations and ease-of-use to quickly get on target given how fast elk could move in and out of an area.
The Solution
Combining my hunting experience and engineering background, I came up with a new design to an age-old problem – the RapidRifleTote™. I first came up with the initial prototype after the 2019 elk hunting season and ran that prototype for 4 years of hunting elk across many many miles of hiking with huge success in the field and no failures.
The Evolution
Now that the capability was proven in the field, it is time to share it with all fellow hunters. While the prototype quality was good and did really well over 4 years, I noticed some decrease in component quality through stress testing (specifically the upper restraint side buckles) as I started to produce more units, so I had to change the design somewhat to maintain the quality necessary to keep the firearm secure in the field. Now it is even better and simpler!
Added bonus – the upper restraint clasp is easier to use with heavy gloves vs the small side-release buckle of the prototype.
